CANVASREBEL - MEET DA'NALL WILMER, THE BEST BOOK

September 15, 2022

My father, Kamonti Wilmer, is my hero. Sadly, I lost him at the beginning of the year, but my love for him is very strong. I know that he watches over me each and every day. He didn’t raise me to be the man I am today, but he made the man I am today a much better man. He came into my life and became my best friend. He introduced me to my church home, gave me my first nice watch and quality cologne, taught me how to negotiate when buying a new car, and taught me that no matter how tough life gets, you can always bounce back and get a second chance. He showed me what unconditional love was; he loved and accepted me no matter what. He was so proud of me and all I had accomplished, and he never dwelled on things he couldn’t control. He taught me all of these things in such a short amount of time. These are part of the reasons why I decided to write my next book about him.

VOYAGE ATL - CHECK OUT DA’NALL WILMER’S STORY

March 11, 2021

My most recent struggles inspired me to write my second book. Last year, the pandemic was very hard for many of us, including me. I hit a low point in my life and battled with depression for most of the year. It was a time when I lost confidence in myself and almost forgot how special I am. It was also a time of solitude where I learned more and more about myself. Through God, therapy, acceptance, and my support system, I was able to work through my pain and begin the process of healing. Suddenly, I decided to use my pain as inspiration.

SHOUTOUT ATLANTA - MEET DA’NALL WILMER: EDUCATOR, MENTOR, & AUTHOR

July 21, 2020

I believe that what ultimately defines us is our character. When thinking about what type of legacy I want to leave, I want to be remembered as someone who lived in their purpose. More importantly, I want to be remembered as someone who treated others with love and respect. So many of our problems on earth can be solved if people learned to simply to be kind to one another. At the end of the day, it’s not our titles and accolades that matter. It’s how we treat others that define who we truly are.

VOYAGE ATL - MEET DA’NALL WILMER, THE GOOD BOOK

July 24, 2019

The interesting part about my life story is that I never planned to be an educator. I never in a million years thought that I would become an author or work with children at all. My initial goal was to be a news reporter. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University where I studied Mass Media Arts. Soon after I graduated, I was forced to move back home to Baltimore because I couldn’t find a job in my field of study. I suddenly had the idea that I would become a substitute teacher, only expecting it to be a temporary experience. Little did I know at the time that teaching and impacting the lives of our youth was my true calling.

The group “Boys In The Good” is providing valuable lessons, including how to give, be optimistic, original and determined.

“I’ve learned how to tie a tie, and how to be a respectful gentleman,” says 4th grader Wesley Henry.

Teacher Da’Nall Wilmer says he was inspired to start the program a few years ago when he learned some students didn’t have ties for picture day.
